1. Platform Purpose & Responsibility

PetSales is an online classifieds platform designed to help individuals, breeders, shelters, and rescues list pets for rehoming, sale, or adoption. Our goal is to make it easier for animals to find safe, loving homes. However, PetSales does not directly participate in, verify, endorse, or guarantee any specific transaction, pet, listing, or communication between users.

All listings are user-submitted, and PetSales does not own, house, inspect, or represent any animals advertised on our platform. We provide a digital space only.

2. User Responsibility

All users of the platform, whether listing or inquiring about a pet, are solely responsible for their own actions and due diligence.
Users are strongly encouraged to:

Meet in person before completing any transaction.
Request and review medical records, vaccination history, and microchip details.
Ask questions about the pet’s breed, temperament, and background.
Avoid sending money without seeing the pet in person or via a secure, trusted method.

PetSales is not responsible for ensuring the truthfulness of listings, nor can we confirm the health, breed, age, behaviour, temperament, or ownership of any pet.

3. No Guarantees or Warranties

PetSales makes no warranties or representations of any kind regarding pets listed on our platform. We do not:

Guarantee that any pet is healthy, vaccinated, or free from illness or behavioural issues.
Guarantee that the pet matches the description or photos provided in the listing.
Verify the identity, ethics, or history of any seller, breeder, rescue, or buyer.

All purchases, adoptions, and rehoming transactions are conducted at your own risk. We strongly advise buyers to seek veterinary advice and conduct independent verification before making any decisions.

4. Reporting Suspicious Activity

We take scams and animal welfare seriously. If you encounter a listing or individual you believe to be:

Scamming or requesting money fraudulently
Misrepresenting an animal or situation
Engaging in unethical, abusive, or illegal activity

Please report it immediately via our Contact page. While we cannot investigate every case, we may suspend or ban users and remove listings that violate our Terms of Use or legal obligations.

5. No Liability for Loss or Injury

By using this website, you agree that PetSales is not liable for any damages, including but not limited to:

Financial loss
Emotional distress
Injuries to people or animals
Veterinary costs or legal fees
Transactions that do not proceed or fall through
Situations where pets are not delivered, are sick, or are misrepresented

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release PetSales, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or legal action resulting from your use of this platform.

6. Fraud Prevention Tips

PetSales recommends the following practices to minimise risk:

Never send money via Western Union, MoneyGram, or crypto.
Be cautious of sellers who refuse to meet in person or show the pet live via video.
Avoid listings that seem too good to be true or pressure you to act quickly.
Always ask for written agreements and receipts where appropriate.

We may display scam alerts or warnings on our site from time to time, but we cannot guarantee that every transaction is safe.

7. Shelter & Rescue Listings

While we welcome animal shelters and rescues to use our platform, PetSales does not vet or certify these organisations. Adoption terms, fees, and policies are determined solely by the listing party. We advise you to verify the credentials and ethics of any organisation before adopting.

8. Breeder Listings

Breeders are allowed on the platform in accordance with local and state laws. However, PetSales does not inspect or license breeders. Buyers should verify breeding practices, parent health, and facility conditions independently.

9. Refunds and Disputes

PetSales is not a party to any payment or adoption agreement and does not handle refunds or returns of any kind. All disputes regarding payment, refunds, delivery, or animal condition must be resolved between the buyer and seller directly.

10. Agreement to Terms

By using this platform, you acknowledge and agree to:

Conduct your own independent checks and due diligence.
Accept full responsibility for your interactions and decisions.
Absolve PetSales of liability for any losses, disputes, or damages resulting from use of the site.
